Drachenwald Company of Archers
The Company is designed to promote archery within the Kingdom of Drachenwald. The company runs Kingdom-wide competitions and tracks archers’ scores, so they can be recognised as their skills improve.
They are also responsible for the education and training of archers, and for continuing historical research into archery methods, equipment and technologies.

Leadership of the Company
The Captain General of Archers is the head of the Company and represents the Company before the Crown, and reviews and amends a set of rules for the Company as needed.
Membership
- The Company is open to all archers of the Kingdom of Drachenwald who meet any requirements set out in the rules.
- All members should be of good standing within the Society; however, they are not required to hold paid membership.
- Membership in the Company is for life unless the archer resigns from the Company or is removed by the Captain General of Archers.
- Should a member wish to leave, a resignation must be written and sent to the Captain General of Archers.
- Expulsion from the Company can only be carried out by the Captain General of Archers.

Expulsion from the Company shall result from banishment, gross misconduct on the line or in the performance of marshal’s duties, or other similar circumstances.

Ranks
Within the Drachenwald Company of Archers, there are the five ranks: Companion, Archer, Yeoman, Master Archer and Grand Master Archer. Once you have achieved a rank within the Company of Archers, it is permanent. Subsequent scores will not set you back in the rankings.
- Companion: To become a Companion, an archer must complete three shoots within three calendar years. These shoots must be one of the official Kingdom rounds as set out in the Kingdom of Drachenwald Target Archery handbook. Two results per official SCA event or practice may be submitted.
- Archer, Yeoman & Master: In addition to the requirements of a companion, three scores must be at or above specific scores (listed in the tables below).

- Grand Master Archer: The purpose of the rank of Grand Master is to promote excellence in all aspects of period archery, not just attaining high scores. New Grand Masters will be invited to join the rank following a poll of existing Grand Masters. Grand Masters, if not already an authoring archery marshal, will be made one. This grants them the right to authorise new Archery and Thrown Weapons Marshals.
Requirements to become eligible for the rank of Grand Master:
- Have held the rank of Master Archer for not less than one year.
- Shoot period equipment.
- Be a Target Archery Marshal.
- Actively run archery shoots.
- Actively teach archery.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the history of archery.
- Demonstrate knowledge of archery equipment, including its care and construction.
- Have made a notable contribution to the archery community.
- Dress in a period style on and off the archery range.
- Behave honourably and chivalrously both on and off the archery range.
- Participates actively in other areas of the SCA.
Badges of the Company
The members of the Drachenwald Company of Archers are entitled to display the badge: Or, in pale a dragon passant coward sable and two arrows in saltire gules The Archer badge is decorated with an additional bordure in gules, the Yeoman bordure in sable, and the Master bordure gyronny sable and gules respectively.
